Wally World Riverside Resort
September Newsletter, 2022

Attention Wally World campers,

On September 19th, the bridge on Wally Road that has had one lane traffic all summer will be closed for deconstruction. A new covered bridge will take its place and hopes to be open by Memorial Day 2023. You can go to discovermohican.com for a printable detour map. After sharing this map with some campers, they have pointed out an issue when pulling a camper East on Route 39 and making a right onto Route 514 in Nashville. A car or camper coming west on Route 39, not a problem. The route suggested is taking Route 22 off Route 39 to Route 514 and then to Wally Road. We are working on getting the changes made to the map. If you have questions, please call the front desk at 855-559-2559. We will also post updates on Facebook. Please do not try bringing your camper down Wally Road of off Route 3. There will not be anyplace to turn around.

Saturday, September 10th will be our member build. This project will take place at the Garden House where we will be constructing a water feature, putting up fence, and planting some shrubs. Extra shovels are welcome. We will begin at 10:00am and will be serving a late lunch around 1:00. Everyone helping will receive a t-shirt. Project is subject to change if it should rain. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

This season has gone by so quickly! Be sure to get out and enjoy the rest of the season.

Safe travels,

Barb McClintock

Update:

Effective Monday September 19th the bridge over the Mohican River a mile to the west of TRO will be closing until next May. The plan is the county is completely replacing the bridge with a new covered bridge inspired concept (see attached drawing). This will have a significant impact on members and tours traveling to TRO. It will not be possible to reach TRO when coming from Loudonville down Wally Road. Attached is a map that the county has produced to direct people around the closure. In preparation for this closure a road that was gravel which crosses the Mohican just below TRO has been paved and widened. The document says the end of September however I have confirmed with the County Engineer it is September 19th. We will need to make a strong presence on social media, and newsletter to alert members. We have already been discussing with regular members onsite. Our scheduled Tours will also need to be contacted to advise of the road closure. We will update you if we hear any news of delays to the start of the project. Please reach out if you have any questions.
