Sycamore Lodge Resort
October Newsletter, 2022

Happy FALL Y’all!!!!

Last month we celebrated Labor Day with a pot luck in the lodge. We played in the rain with the fire department from Derby. Bob brought in a new different weekend with games. And who doesn’t like any of that 😊? And then the hillbilly weekend happened… we are still not sure what we saw there. But we had a blast. We also said a see you later to our work campers Don and Becky Mashar. Y’all will be so missed here <3. Enjoy retirement!!!!!

Now October will leave you wanting more of Sycamore Lodge……… but are you ready? CANNNNN YOUUU HANDLE IT!!!!!! Do I hear and yeah!!!
We are racing into it with Oktoberfest and racing weekend. Zoom zoom with yummy brats, sweet tea and drag racing golf carts. Bring a side dish for that weekend to share too. Then because of all the zooming around let’s step back and enjoy some golf. Charity golf that is…… it will help you relax and get you ready. Ready for what???? Well the kick off weekend for the Haunted Forest of course. Are you afraid!!!! Muahhhh ah ah ah. Volunteers have been ramping it up this year with all the cleanup and the build. What will all the theme for the houses be this year? You will have to come out and check it out. Haunted Forest will be open the last 3 Saturdays of October. Come on out and support the cause and raise $$$ for Lymphoma and Leukemia. Now y’all didn’t think we just did the Haunted Forest did you??? Every Saturday Bob has a Schedule for crafts, trick or treating and site decorating. Bring it on everyone. Let’s see who wins! Show us your Sycamore Halloween spirit with it all.

Don’t forget our second car show will happen this month too. Drive out your vintage or new vehicles to register for the show. Lastly, its officially Halloween at Sycamore. Let’s have a great, spooky, and safe time everyone.

Notes from management:
Members please remember vehicles should be under 5 mph while driving around the campground. Also, outside area wood should not come on property. This year we have had to cut down a lot of trees and remove debris from the pine beetle. I think we are at close to 200 dump trucks full. We need members help to battle this and slow it down. As the season slows down and we are coming into our colder months, we ask for you not to drive through empty camp sites. Maintenance has had numerous people damage sewer lines and running over sewer lids.
A reminder that the store will be closed now on Mondays and check out store hours as we have moved to off season time. If you have mail delivery the postal services will take them to the Hen House.

Have a great Fall Y’all
Rod and Bobbie
