Winter is upon us here at Gettysburg Battlefield Resorts in South Central Pennsylvania!
Happy Fall Y’all!
As September comes so do the changing of the leaves. A beautiful time to come to the Lake. North Shore has been busy as always, with all the work of keeping this park beautiful. The progress of the 16 new sites is going stupendously (go check it out!). Activities are as busy as ever. The pools have been fuller, and the fishing is great!
Our Member Build last month went very well as we completed the Nature Trail with a beautiful gazebo and some shrubbery. Everyone had a blast, eating, laughing, and working together to bring the project to completion.
Activities this month consist of Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 2nd-5th) where we will have live music, golf cart parade, hotdog roast, and a beach party. The following weekend will be Garage Sale Weekend (Sept. 9th-11th) so bring down your home-made crafts, extra priceless items laying around, and remember “One man trash is another mans treasure”. We will also have crafts and activities to honor 9/11. Next up, our Fall Harvest Weekend (Sept. 16th-18th). Beers, Brats, parties, pictures, pumpkins, and best of all FUN! Chili Cook-off/ Game Fest Weekend (Sept. 23rd-25th) will be a weekend filled with games and a fall food favorite…. you guessed it, CHILI! Our last weekend of the month will be Arts & Crafts Weekend (Sept. 30th-Oct. 2nd) and its going to get messy and its going to be AWESOME! Join us for the fun and don’t forget to bring your friends and family along for the ride.
We are working hard to continue improvements with decks, railings, and staining, hoping to get a little more painting done before the weather gets colder. Drainage has been a HUGE part of this year’s projects and we are finally getting the hold of things to keep the runoff at bay. With the help of Skis Trees, we were able to get a chunk of our dead trees and limbs removed as well as some canopy raising to make the Lake more viewable from above.
Reminder, it is that time of year. The ants have come out and they want to play! Be sure to pack your ant spray and get your camper sprayed when you arrive to ensure they do not get indoors. If you forget your spray, please see the front desk and they will lend you some. If they do make it indoors, please see the front desk for some indoor ant traps.

As the weather gets a little colder each night, we all snuggle one step closer to the campfire. The leaves have almost finished falling and everything looks beautiful. What a perfect season we have here in Georgia.

I see the colours everywhere as I drive around this beautiful place, we call Rocky Fork Ranch.
February has made her presence known with cold winds, snow flurries creeping in, and the trees have finally dropped all their leaves.

Goodbye to December and we are giving our thanks to all the members that were with us during the BIG thanksgiving feast.
