Rocky Fork Ranch, November Newsletter
I see the colours everywhere as I drive around this beautiful place, we call Rocky Fork Ranch.
What a crazy summer season at Luna Sands. We’re into November now and, knock on wood, we haven’t had any hurricane threats this year. Summer is usually our time for the staff to get caught up on projects and take advantage of vacation time. This summer, we saw a lot of campers visiting during the summer months. Our new members are excited to get out and try it out, and they don’t care that it’s hot while they camp. This will be a continuing trend for the next several years.
During October, we rebuilt the steps and deck on the main building. It was a pretty big project, as they have been there for over 25 years and there was a lot of wood rot. In addition, we moved some patios and updated campsites 26, 27, and 30. We’ve also improved some other campsites by putting down additional road base (millings), making them easier to enter. The snowbirds will start to arrive at the beginning of November, a few of them have already shown up. If you haven’t made your reservation for January, February, or March, we still have a few seasonal sites to fill. Call us immediately to inquire about our availability!
Although our summer was quiet, we did plan a few events during the holidays. We just celebrated Oktoberfest with a fun sausage and kraut cookout, we also decorated for Halloween! But we’re excited for the events and activities that November bring us! First weekend of November is the Nacho Cheese Celebration. Phyllis, the activity director will return to the resort for Not-Yo-Cheese activity on November 6th. The 2nd weekend, we take advantage of downtown Deland and do the mural walk, then Thanksgiving on Thursday, followed by Light the Tree festivities on November 27th. We will host a special Thanksgiving dinner. We are still being careful with food related activities and will cook the entire dinner. To be clear, this is not a potluck. Call us and sign up at the store for Thanksgiving Dinner, so we will know how many people to cook for this dinner. Weather permitting, we’ll eat outside. Please download campers APP and then sign into Luna Sands to keep up with scheduled activities.
Make your plans to camp now.
Come be a Lunie with us.
Don’t wait.

Let me start with what a wonderful Halloween weekend we had. So many terrific costumes, it was amazing! The weather was perfect, and the party I believe was a great success.
There is a chill in the air as we welcome the Fall Season! As mentioned last newsletter, my favourite time of the season.

What a summer this has been!! It went by super-fast with no time to waste. The weather for most of the summer was fantastic and lasted all the way through October.
That’s a wrap! Can you believe the season is over?! We’re still recovering from all the fun we had in October and our Halloween weekends. We have to admit Halloween is our favourite time of the year here at PAR and we love when our campers go all out!
We are so excited for this month as we approach the winter season. We have a lot of goodies this month and will end with a bang for a personal favourite, HALLOWEEN!!!
