River adventure awaits you at the St. Croix River Resort. The Resort is approximately 90 minutes northeast from the Twin Cities and just about a mile away from the St. Croix River. Covering nearly 34,000 acres the St. Croix State Park is home to over 200 miles of designated Scenic River. It is widely considered to be one of the finest canoe rivers in the United States. Home to 19 species of fish including Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Sauger, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and Lake Sturgeon that can grow to over 50 pounds.

ATV and Snowmobile trails provide endless hours of enjoyment to visitors and the trail head is just minutes away from the entrance to St. Croix River Resort. The area also provides great hunting opportunities for our members.  

We are also proud to offer 128 RV sites with some full hookup, tent camping and cabins. We have something for everyone! Stop by the general store and pick up any last minute items you forgot, take a dip in our indoor pool, lets the kids run around the playground and make new friends, or spend the day relaxing in one of our shaded sites and enjoy a good book or a nap.

St. Croix State Park

Plan an extended visit to St. Croix State Park. With over 34,000 acres and two great rivers—the Saint Croix River, which is a National Scenic Riverway, and the Kettle River, a State Wild and Scenic River—there’s so much to do. Explore the rivers by canoe or with a fishing pole. Swim at Lake Clayton or climb a fire tower. The park has miles of trails for hikers, horseback riders, bicyclists, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers. Campers can reserve drive-in, walk-in, backpack, and horseback campsites. Large groups can reserve the modern group centers or the primitive group camps.

The Hinckley Fire Museum

The Hinckley Fire Museum is located in the former Saint Paul & Duluth Railroad Depot, rebuilt in the wake of fire to replicate the previous train station.  The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and remains largely unchanged. Inside, you’ll see artifacts from the 1890’s that made it through the fire and hear some of the many stories from that terrible September day, which remains one of the largest wildfire disasters in history. Come learn the history of this disastrous event and hug your family a little tighter.

Gandy Dancer ATV Trails

Get ready for an ATV adventure! This 30-mile trail along an abandoned railroad grade begins in Danbury, Wis., and travels north through Minnesota before looping back east. With fishing, walking trails, shooting ranges and rare species you won’t be lost on things to do!
