The warmth of summer is upon us, as we welcome the sunshine here at Gettysburg Battlefield Resorts. Guests have been rolling in, and the campground has become full of life again. As your new resort manager, it has been a blast getting to meet all the members for the first time!
Our team has been working extremely hard to get the entire resort ready for the summer kick-off. The GBR Arcade has undergone some extremely exciting renovations, the grounds team is working away at planting flowers, the maintenance team is constantly working to make improvements, and of course, the famous GBR Pool is open for our guests to enjoy this summer! I’m very excited to share this summer season with you all and cannot wait to see all your smiling faces here on the resort!

There is no doubt about it – Gettysburg Battlefield
Resort is absolutely radiant in June. Irises in full bloom wave a warm welcome to all entering our front gate. Throughout the park, pansies and marigolds turn their cheery faces to the sun. Down by the pond, one can almost taste the honeysuckle in the air as the fountain dances in the gentle breezes of summer. Finally, it is summer, and what a summer we are planning here at Gettysburg Battlefield Resort!
We are starting off with Prom Weekend! This year our theme is “We Go Together!” Think famous couples like Bonnie and Clyde, Johnny and June or dress as things that go together, like peanut butter and jelly. For inspiration, curl up with some hot cocoa and popcorn and watch the movie “Never Been Kissed.” Don’t forget to vote for our Prom King and Queen!! June 10th-12th is our Hawaiian Luau Weekend! We are so excited to bring a Hawaiian show to you Saturday night, with authentic hula dancers and a fire show! We are celebrating dads June 17th-19th, with our Annual Dad and Me Fishing Tournament, a cornhole tournament and a GBR favorite band, LODI! Finally, it’s the Crazy 80s! Dig out your legwarmers, bomber jackets and fingerless gloves! We are having a DJ and light show, as well as a photo booth with props! Members will be able to get unlimited prints of their pictures at the dance! We are happy to report our campground concierge service is up and running and has been a great benefit to members! We were able to make dinner reservations for a family at the Dobbin House for Mother’s Day, found the perfect scary-but-not-so-scary ghost tour for a family with small children, helped a son find the perfect gift for his mom at one of our local shops in Gettysburg and arranged an outing for another family at the Catoctin Wildlife Reserve! Come see us in the sunroom from 12-4 pm, Thursdays through Saturdays. If you need recommendations for dinner, or something to do with the kids, or want to sign-up for a ghost tour or would like us to help celebrate a special occasion, please let us know! want to plan to bring special items or costumes to participate, so we are
giving you a sneak peek!
(1) June 4th – GBR Prom ~ This year our theme is “We Go

(2) June 10th – June 12th ~ It’s our Luau Weekend, so
pack your Hawaiian shirts and coconut skirts! We will be having a real Hawaiian show with authentic dancers and music!
(3) June 25th – It’s a Crazy 80s dance, so dig out your legwarmers, bomber jackets and fingerless gloves! We are having a DJ and light
show, as well as a photo booth with props! Members will be able to get
unlimited prints of their pictures at the dance!
(4) July 22nd-24th – It’s Christmas in July!! Bring a
gift for Toys for Tots and earn 6 extra Bingo cards. Bring a second gift for
our Member Gift Exchange – under $15 please
(5) August 19th – August 21st ~ Country Fair Weekend –
bring your crafts and baked goods to enter into the GBR Fair. You could win a blue ribbon! Then we have a big concert with Chris Woodward and Shindiggin’!

As the weather gets a little colder each night, we all snuggle one step closer to the campfire. The leaves have almost finished falling and everything looks beautiful. What a perfect season we have here in Georgia.

Goodbye to December and we are giving our thanks to all the members that were with us during the BIG thanksgiving feast.
