Wow! 

Where has the summer gone??

I can’t believe it is September already, we have had so much fun this year the time has flown right by. In August, we started out with Hippie Fest and had a blast from the past, as members dressed up and joined in on the fun. Next was Magic & Magician weekend, we had a Magician John Russell come and do a magic show on the patio for all of us. He did a tremendous job and kids of all ages enjoyed the show. We hope to have him back again someday. Super Hero weekend was amazing, we loved to see the kids in their favorite costumes. We had our first 5K run and a fund raiser for the local fire department. They came out and brought their trucks and equipment for the kids to explore, the kids even got to hold the water hose! Big “Thank You” to the Parish Fire Department for everything you do for us and the community, we appreciate all you do.

It is that time of year when things slow down a little bit until Halloween. The kids are back to school and the weather starts to get cooler. Some of our staff is leaving to go back to school, or winter jobs. With that being said, we need to change our hours. For the month of September, our store will be open Wednesday & Thursday: 9am-5pm, Friday & Saturday: 9am-8pm, and Sunday 9am-5pm. Monday and Tuesday the store will be closed, but if you need something, or would like to sign out a boat, go to the office, and someone will be available to assist you from 9am-5pm. The Café will be open Thursday-Saturday: 4pm-8pm. Both pools will be closed for the season after Labor Day. We will have planned activities on weekends and have some great themes coming up. 

We start September off with Labor Day weekend. The next weekend, Sept. 9th – 11th, is going to be Apple Fest. We’ll loads of apple and other special treats, and a baking contest as well!. Then the 16th – 18th is International Potluck. Bring your favorite dish to share, and make sure you bring your appetite! September 23rd – 24th is Rock & Roll Weekend, we’ll be dancing the night away to some rocking tunes. And then, we have a Teen Lock out at the clubhouse with Erica, Renee & Marissa. We will end September out with our first Halloween Weekend, so please bring your best costumes and decorations! There will be a costume party and contest for adults on Friday night, and costume contests for kids and pets on Saturday. Trick or treating from site to site, crafts, games, a spooky hayride and much more! You don’t want to miss it. We will be doing Halloween 2 weekends in a row again this year. September 30th- October 2nd and October 7th-9th. 

We are looking forward to a beautiful fall season with the turning of the leaves, apples, pumpkins, and campfires. We hope you all will join us!
