October Newsletter, 2022

How did we end up in October already?

I can’t believe the season is almost over. September was a cooler month with some rain shower’s coming through, but we still had a great time! Labor Day was so much fun from our first Camp Crawl to a Poker Walk and then the last Tie-Dye of the season. Apple Fest weekend was delicious. We had an apple baking contest that was so hard to judge, they were all winners! Next for our International Potluck we all made our best dish and had lunch together at the new pavilion. Thank you to all our wonderful members who joined in, we could not do it without you!

Both of our pools are now closed for the season. We have a couple more weekends left, and then the weather in NY becomes unpredictable. Most of our staff will be leaving us for the winter right after Columbus Day. We have a short time period to get things closed up. The boats will come out of the water and the store and café will close for the winter. We are planning to shut the water off to the campsites on October 17th this year. After that date you will be able to camp until snow flies but will need to fill your tank before parking on the site. We have 2 locations with water for you to fill your tank, outside the upper men’s bathroom and cabin #107A. If you are planning to visit us during the off season, please remember to coordinate with the greeting station for all after hours information, as we will have limited staff on site. Most of our rental units will get winterized, the 3 cedar lodges across from the store will remain open to all year. If you have any questions, please contact us at (315) 728-9437.

Before we close, we have two more fun packed weekends! The first two weekends of October are our Halloween Weekends! If you can not come for the first one, we hope you can make it for the second. It is so much fun we do the same thing two weeks in row just to make sure no one misses it. September 30th-October 2nd and again on October 7th-9th. We will start Friday night with a band and adult costume party at the upper clubhouse and family movie at the lower clubhouse. Saturday starts at 10am with a manager mingle, kids Halloween craft, spiders on a string, candy in the hay, pet costume contest, kids costume contest, glow trick or treating and then we end with DJ Dion and our Haunted hayride after dark. The café is going to have their Harvest Buffet again this year, both Saturdays from 4pm-6pm and then the Breakfast Buffet both Sunday mornings from 8:30am-11am. Please remember to bring your costumes and lots of candy. We are looking forward to ending our season off with a boom and we hope you all will join us. Happy Fall!

Your Resort Manager,
Heather Powis
