Gettysburg Battlefield Resort April Newsletter, 2024

“Our Spring has come at last with the soft laughter of April suns and shadow of April showers.”

Well, hello April! True to form it has been a rainy season here at Gettysburg! But the grass is a brilliant shade of green, trees are budding, and daffodils bob their heads to the rhyme of the spring breeze! Robins scurry busily on the Pavilion lawn, picking up twigs for nests and worms for dinner. At the pond, the carp are flirting with the shallow bank, and one morning we even welcomed a great blue heron who stopped by to rest and fish.

The staff is hard at work getting ready for the season, and we are hoping to roll out the highly anticipated tent sites soon! With their shade, electricity and water, members can enjoy traditional camping!

Another sure sign of Spring – the annual return of our rental golf carts! 

The Eisenhower cabin is ready for activities, teen club, and our returning concierge service.

April started with Easter and continues with our Earth Day Celebration and our Spring Festival. In addition, our monthly craft and yard sale, held on the 4th Saturday of every month will be resuming in April! May kicks off with our 3rd annual Amazing Race on May 3-5th and Mother’s Day Weekend May 10-12th, then our WW II Weekend May 17th-19th, Memorial Day Weekend May 24th -27th and finally our 1st Jurassic Park Weekend May 31-June 2nd!

We are also currently reviewing applications for our new extended stay program. If you are interested in staying with us from April 1st to November 1st, please contact the store as soon as possible, as sites for the extended program are limited.
