May season is upon us at Gettysburg Battlefield Resorts! The grass has greened, the trees have budded and pushed out new leaves, and the flowers are beginning to make their appearance for the summer ahead. We welcome the rainy season to help bring us the beauty of spring, all while we soak up the warmth of the sunshine that falls on the resort.

May brings many exciting things to the camping world! As we dive into the busy season, we will soon have more kiddos running around the resort as the schools begin to let out for summer vacation. The sun rises higher in the sky and the beautiful pool will be ready for guests to take their first plunge into the cool water. The snack bar is stocked with more yummy options from ice cream to hot dogs and the retail store is still receiving merchandise for guests to check out and represent the GBR logo with some new SWAG!

Along with all this fun, we also welcome back our full recreation schedule with every weekend packed full of fun for the entire family! May kicks off with our Kentucky Derby Weekend sporting big hats and enjoy the taste of mint juleps! We continue the fun by celebrating our wonderful MOMS who go above and beyond every day to make sure we are all taken care of! After that, we are going to have an entire weekend geared towards fitness and the importance of staying healthy. To wrap all that up, we have our OFFICIAL kick off the summer with the opening of the pool and Memorial Day Weekend! Make sure you download and keep track of CAMPERSAP for all the excitement and details happening on the resort every weekend!

With all this excitement upon us it is important to recognize all the hard work and energy that it takes to make GBR come out of its winter hibernation! We truly are blessed to have the best TEAM of dedicated and passionate folks meeting, greeting, and serving you while you visit us! We are also excited to welcome some new faces to the team this year! Stop in and say hello to them and introduce yourself when you can! They are just as eager to meet you and help make your stay perfect! Some of these new team members even took it upon themselves to clean up trash along the parks side roadways on their day off! What an awesome thing to do for the benefit of everyone!

This spring certainly doesn’t come without some challenges as our beloved recreation direct Rachel is facing a new health battle. Despite this, her drive and dedication to the resort and all our members, Rachel has worked along side her incredible recreation team to bring more fun in the sun then ever before! Please join us in supporting her journey and seeing her through this challenge.

We cannot express just how excited we are to have you all back at GBR as we dive head first into the summer season! As you plan your next trip with us, remember to pack your sneakers as we hope to get you up and moving with some new activities!
