Winter is upon us here at Gettysburg Battlefield Resorts in South Central Pennsylvania!

What a year it has been!
We capped it off by our traditional “Deck the Lodge” weekend, and our members didn’t disappoint! Members gathered around our Lodge and trimmed our grand tree with beautiful ornaments and twinkling lights. The windows were framed with greens and poinsettias and the camper in the Sunroom was decked out with lights and garland and a Christmas tree of its own! Children of all ages wrote letters to Santa and included a list of gifts they hoped to receive from the North Pole. In the evening everyone gathered around the Christmas tree for a story – The Night Before Christmas, of course! And then, it was time for Santa to give out presents! Somehow Santa managed to give everyone who wrote a letter to Santa that morning at least one thing off their list., only proving to some skeptics that Santa does indeed exist. Then it was time for hot chocolate and cookies! It was a perfect GBR Christmas and Santa would like to thank all the GBR elves who made our annual Christmas magic happen!
After Deck the Lodge, well, things get a little quieter around here, at least on the surface. There are fewer kids on the playground, and there are less folks stopping by the store. But just like bulbs of Spring lay beneath blankets of snow, planning the bloom of each gloriously colored petal, under the quiet still, GBR is busy sowing the seeds of next year’s season. From booking bands and entertainment to improving campsites, trimming trees, preparing for new store inventory and giving the sunroom a much needed makeover, plans are afoot to create an improved member experience. In activities, new and exciting themed weekends will be debuting in 2023, and some from previous years will be making a comeback! There will be live entertainment most weekends with some of your favorite bands coming back and some new ones taking their first turn on the GBR Stage. Rumor has it even Elvis may be making an appearance!! We are so looking forward to making every member’s 2023 season filled with memories to treasure.

As the weather gets a little colder each night, we all snuggle one step closer to the campfire. The leaves have almost finished falling and everything looks beautiful. What a perfect season we have here in Georgia.
I see the colours everywhere as I drive around this beautiful place, we call Rocky Fork Ranch.
Goodbye to December and we are giving our thanks to all the members that were with us during the BIG thanksgiving feast.
