Bass Lake Resort, July Newsletter 2022
Winter is upon us here at Gettysburg Battlefield Resorts in South Central Pennsylvania!
Hello to all of our wonderful Bass Lakers!
We had so much fun in June, and the weather has been beautiful! We started out with Redneck Weekend, what a hoot! Our Activity Director Phyllis did an amazing job setting it up, from bowling with cabbages to redneck flag football! Next was Chocolate Lovers weekend, with smores by the fire, chocolate making, a chocolate fountain served with fruit for dipping, and candy bar bingo. Then on to Father’s Day! The Annual Fishing Derby was a hit as always. The weather was cold, but the fish were biting. Congratulations to our first place adult winner, Andy Johnson, with a whopping 15” Bass. Our first place winner for the kids was Lawrence Bravo, he got the first fish and also the biggest fish of the day, at 16 1/2”. Thank you to Drew for helping us out and bringing the fish tank to display all the great catches of the day. We celebrated with pizza picnic in the afternoon, and ended the evening with Elvis on the patio! Hope everyone had a Happy Father’s Day! We certainly did!
More exciting things are happening here at Bass Lake. Besides having fun are remodeling park model #205, painting the well house and lower clubhouse, and repairing the fence and deck at the lower pool, both pools are now open for the season! We added fences in the Café parking lot to highlight the roads to Sunset Circle. We put up a new TV in the lower clubhouse that will always have a slideshow of the pictures we take throughout the Resort. Make sure you check it out, you might just be on TV! There are some new chairs on the back deck at the lower clubhouse and new umbrella’s for the deck and the pools.
Kathy has all of the flowers planted and they look so beautiful. The new storage sites are working out very well, thank you for your patience and cooperation while we set them up. And a big thank you to Nikki and Jeff & Beverly Cooper, for all your hard work on this project.
The Café is now open for longer hours in July. They will be open Wednesday through Sunday, with nightly specials, happy hour from 4pm-6pm, all you can eat pancakes on Saturday morning, and the breakfast buffet every Sunday.
Coming up in July we will have, Red, White Blue start us off for the 4th of July weekend, followed by Character Weekend July 8th-10th, Wild West Water Wars July 15th-17th, and Christmas in from July 22nd-24th, featuring a breakfast with Santa and a decorating contest. We will end July with a Luau Weekend on July 29th-31st, so don’t forget to bring your aloha shirts. The activities crew has so much planned for you all and we look forward to seeing all your smiling faces out and about at the Resort.
Happy Camping Everyone!
Your Resort Manager,
Heather Powis

As the weather gets a little colder each night, we all snuggle one step closer to the campfire. The leaves have almost finished falling and everything looks beautiful. What a perfect season we have here in Georgia.

February has made her presence known with cold winds, snow flurries creeping in, and the trees have finally dropped all their leaves.
I see the colours everywhere as I drive around this beautiful place, we call Rocky Fork Ranch.

Goodbye to December and we are giving our thanks to all the members that were with us during the BIG thanksgiving feast.
Even though the camping season has come and gone we are still busy here at the resort. Learn more about the resort in the February Newsletter!
