Luna Sands Resort, March 2022

Hello Everyone!

Luna Sands will be jam packed with fun this March. We packed the house for Speed Week and the Daytona 500 in February, and now we’re expecting another full house for our busiest month and Bike Week celebration.  

During February, Lewis and Clarence finished a campsite project on Site 31 and 33, which got immediately booked up! The February freeze got a lot of our plants, although we covered them as much as possibly could to preserve them from the cold. It’s been 4 years since we had a hard freeze like this. The freeze took a toll and required an additional cleaning of our resort, and we didn’t miss that at all! Thankfully, it’s warm again! Hooray!

After the hard freeze, our projects have all included plant trimming, branch pick-up, and staining the Clubhouse deck. Gary and Ken have been busy showing people to their sites. Remember, if you’re traveling to LSR, to please arrive during daylight hours. It’s very hard to drive through the campsites and the park in the dark at our resort. Ken and Gary are pretty good at escorting people to their sites, but it’s very difficult. If you will be arriving after daylight hours, please call us at the front desk in advance

In February, we had lots of fun hosting both a Valentine Spaghetti Dinner and Football Tailgate Party. We tailgated by grilling up some hamburgers, hot dogs, and all sorts of food for everybody, before moving to the clubhouse to watch the Big Game. Many people also spent the evening together with some Valentine’s Day dinner and dancing, with music provided by our DJ, Stan Arel.

We are looking forward to Spring Break and Bike Week, starting on March 4th. Bikers from all over the United States come to Daytona for the warm weather and awesome events everywhere along the Florida East coastline. Of course, there are plenty of things to do for our non-Bikers here! We will celebrate Spring Break here at the resort, and then on March 12th, we will celebrate with Apples. What’s that? You’ll have to be here to find out! March 17th is always St. Patrick’s Day, but we will celebrate on March 19th when everything will be green. Finally, we will round out our March events with Fiesta Weekend on March 25th and 26th.

Every Thursday through March, we will have a donuts and coffee social at the clubhouse. On the First Friday of the month (March 4th), we will celebrate at the TIKI bar with a Friday night social. Except for the first Friday, each Friday night will be a Movie Night at the TIKI Bar deck. We will be showing a movie, providing our moviegoers with popcorn and soft drinks. During the month of March, we will also have a Saturday morning breakfast available at the clubhouse from 8am to 10am. In addition, we will have a special ribeye dinner cookout scheduled on March 19th.
