Northshore Landing Resort, October Newsletter
We are so excited for this month as we approach the winter season. We have a lot of goodies this month and will end with a bang for a personal favourite, HALLOWEEN!!!
Winds in the east, mist coming in … like something is brewing
And bout to begin. Can’t put our finger on what lies in store
But we are so excited to be back like before!!
Fall is fast approaching, and signs of its arrival are all over the resort! There are planters of mums and hay bale decor all around the Lodge, and the Halloween Committee has been spotted in the Pavilion! We hear they have a secret plan for the annual Scaring is Caring Haunt! But by far, the best sign that Fall is on its way?? Richard, our resort manager, has an extra spring in his step – Fall is his favorite time of year! If only he could find a way to bottle the scent of a fall campfire on a cool night! There is another reason for that extra spring in his step … say hi to Jaron next time you are here! Jaron is the resort manager at Cedar Lake and is helping here at GBR. Jaron has more energy than a warehouse full of Energizer bunnies and he has been a very welcome addition to our team! He thinks he is only here temporarily, but we are all are doing our very best to steal him away – just kidding, Cedar Lake … but can’t blame us for trying!!!
We have had a wonderful summer here at GBR, finishing up strong in September with a World War II Living History Weekend and a yummy Chocolate Lovers’ Weekend! In October, GBR is going to the dawgs! The pool will re-open for our annual Doggy Paddle and we will have some special 4-pawed guests! Then, it’s onto our GBR Goes Pink Weekend! Look for the ribbons of every colour to honour and remember all our cancer warriors!
And finally, that wind from the east?? Well, it’s blowing in witches and ghosts and goblins of all sorts! In the first week of Halloween, we have a special treat for all of our members – it’s our annual Monster Mash Bash featuring music by Chris Woodward and Shindiggin’! There will be trick or treating, costume classes, golf cart parades, and awards for the best decorated site during the first three weekends! And for the last two weekends, be sure and get your tickets to our Scaring is Caring Haunt! It’s going to be quite the production!!!
Respectfully Submitted,
Richard and Rachel

We are really excited for October here on the ranch! Our first weekend is Headless horseman weekend. We will have trick or treating, site decorating, costume contests, rides to the pumpkin patch and all the usual Halloween fun
October has arrived and our season will be coming to an end later this month. With that said we do still have a few fun weekends to go.

Luna Sands is gearing up for a busy winter. As we depart summer and move into fall, the weather is still hot and muggy. Don’t despair though, because the middle of October things starts to make a turn and you’ll feel like fall has finally arrived.
Its Spooky Season! We are super excited for all the events we have planned; we can’t let the cat out of the bag for all planned, but you know it’s going to be a Spooktacular time!
September was fun with celebrating the First Responders in our area, backyard BBQ yummies, and the casino poke run.
Bass Lake had a super nice September. The weather was perfect New York weather with some very warm fall temperatures. We were able to keep the lower pool open until September 27th. Yes the last weekend open was pretty chilly. We had some pretty large water leaks that had to be repaired, and we appreciate all the support and patience from our members during the times when we had to turn water off to the entire resort.
